Coming and recent ABCA Events, at the Parish Rooms unless otherwise stated
Retro Evening - Our excellent local band "The Mandrills" performed 60s 70s and 80s music at the Parish Rooms on 14. April 2018. There was a lot of dancing! More images and news updates are coming soon.
This year's ABCA AGM was held in the Parish Rooms on Tuesday 23. May 2017 at 7:30 pm.
The 300 Club has completed its activities for this year, you contributed over £1,200 towards the upkeep of the Parish Rooms, and we distributed that amount to residents and friends of the Acton Bridge community. As you know there is a weekly draw, but were you one of the six winners in the December Christmas draw? We start again in the Summer with our sellers trying to cover every residence in the village. Please support what is one of the major fund raising activities of ABCA. Thank you.
On 9th March ABCA held its annual Quiz. We had twelve teams competing, (the maximum) for the coveted 'Brass Monkey trophy'. It was a close run thing, but Team Four were the winners, comprising Charles and Vickie Fifield, Cliff and Sue Mallows, and Paul and Paula Williams. There was an abundant raffle, with seemingly prizes for everyone (who bought a ticket!). All in all it was a very enjoyable evening, with much laughter and mirth. Along the way you contributed over £600 towards the upkeep of the Parish Rooms. Thanks must go to Ken Coates our talented and resourceful quizmaster, and thanks to everyone for your support.
The Houghton Weavers, 'Britain's best loved comedy folk group' performed on 9th September 2016 - It was a sell-out, and you raised over £1,300 for ABCA funds. As Jane Evans said, these talented guys are in the business of doling out happiness, and didn't they do that! Everyone had an enjoyable, happy evening. Two pics [from Peter Hurst] below.
Murder on the Titanic, a murder mystery play!

...and previously...
Yes, this event took place on Friday 4th March 2016. The Parish rooms were transformed in to the Captain's dining room and everyone who attended dressed up in ingenious costumes. It was a night to remember. The photos are still available, have a look here.
