News and Coming Events from Peter Hurst

The Government on the 19th of July announced a relaxing of the COVID-19 regulations in place which applied to ABCA in the use of our Parish Rooms. We receive guidance from ACRE, i.e., the Association of Community Halls in rural England, of which we are a member. They produce detailed guidance recommended for the re-opening and the use of our Parish Rooms. The immediate effect is that the restrictions on numbers using our Rooms are lifted, we can now accommodate 80 in the main hall and 60 in the small hall. These numbers should satisfy the requirements of all our user groups, so it’s back to business, and the full use of our facilities is now available to our community.

With this relaxation, we have reviewed our COVID Risk, assessment plan, it’s there to keep everyone safe, and a revised update is available in the section below. We will still clean, and provide cleansing materials, and ask you to socially distance at congested pinch points in the Rooms. However, the onus shifts to our user groups, each user group will have to take measures to comply with government regulations with respect to social distancing, cleaning and record keeping (for Track and Trace), so as to keep you safe and secure. They have each received a set of revised booking conditions.

Private groups and families can also use the Rooms for their activities and celebrations/parties.
