On Saturday March 26 Acton Bridge WI hosted a Brews and Bakes morning. Wonderful atmosphere after so long unable to mix with the village. There were plenty of Jams , marmalade, chutneys, breads, cakes paintings to buy. Thank you to all who came and the many helpers .

On Wednesday 17 March 2021, Rosemary Mullett, March President of Acton Bridge WI, presented Jane Evans with a card designed by a member, saying from all your friends in Acton Bridge WI.

Later on in Jane’s garden, Valerie Mitchell, secretary, gave Jane an envelope containing information about a gift.

Jane joined the WI in 2003 shortly after she and her husband David arrived in the village. In 2006 she became treasurer, a position she held until last year’s AGM. She was an influential and hard-working member, contributing flower displays for monthly Raffles and baking whenever it was required.

WI members were asked if they would like to contribute to a thank you and leaving gift for Jane. Thanks to all the generous donations, we were able to purchase a modern teak bench and fitted cushions for Jane to use her new garden.

Due to the current restrictions it was impossible for us to have a WI meeting or a gathering to present Jane with her thank you and gift.

We wish her well in her new venture .
